One of the factors slowing its expansion is customer distrust of transaction security. These concerns are partly justified, because e-commerce sites, if not properly protected, are exposed to very concrete risks.
Compromised e-commerce = users leaving, lost investments and unexpected costs
What happens if your site is the victim of a cyberattack? Browser vendors and search engines have created alliances to identify infected sites and protect users:
- Search engines, such as Google, can remove the infected or suspected site from search results, or temporarily downgrade it;
- The attacked site can be blocked by browsers such as Firefox or Chrome, with the familiar red screens warning that something is wrong;
- When someone tries to view an infected site, the antivirus may show warning messages, with obvious consequences: who buys from a site that triggers the antivirus?
- Another possibility is the creation of phishing sites, false copies of well-known sites that try to steal personal and sensitive data.
How prepared are you, and which technologies do you use to protect your business from these risks?
